ALIRA

Alira Grand Vin Cuveé

Dry red wine, 13,6% ABV

The noble character of Alira Grand Vin Cuvee (Fetească Neagră, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon) is obvious as soon as you have poured it into the glass. The intense ruby color is subtly complemented by cherry and marzipan flavors, while the taste is full and balanced, dominated by ripe fruit and cocoa. We also find notes of peppermint, cedar wood and spices along with round and soft tannins. The complex structure of the wine recommends this wine to be aerated in the decanter one hour before serving.

Also available in ALIRA Grand Vin Cuvee 2011 Magnum and Double Magnum.

A similar Bordeaux-like assemblage is recommended for dishes with rich wine-based or cheese-based sauces. The round tannin complement fatty foods, such as duck, while the spicy notes fit well next to  pasta carbonara with smoked ham.

The grapes are hand-picked and carefully selected on vibrant tables. The cold maceration of grapes takes between 3 and 5 days at a controlled temperature of 14 ° C. Alcoholic fermentation (100% by the addition of selected yeast) is controlled at 26-28 ° C between 6-8 days, followed by hot maceration (thermo maceration) between 12-15 days. 50% of the wine was matured in French oak barrels at second use, the remainder in French oak barrels at third use for 14 months.
